Living in Costa Blanca North
Along this stretch of coast the mountains come close to the sea. The Serra Gelada separates Benidorm from the bay of Albir and Altea, and the Puig Campana and the Serra de Bernia shelter the villages in the hills behind. Further north, the Peñón de Ifach rises straight out of the sea at Calpe.
The towns are lively all year, with international schools, health centres and a large Scandinavian community around Albir and Alfaz del Pi. Alicante airport is about an hour away by motorway, and a tram line runs along the coast.
